Claims philosophy: ICS has developed a claims philosophy that centers on communication between all of the parties and providing innovative cost control measures. This can be described as follows:

· Fraud Control – We have trained our examiners to know the red flags of potential fraudulent claims. We are fierce on fraud. Workers’ compensation claim benefits are for those people legitimately entitled to them. We begin the separation of the fraudulent claims from the real ones during our initial investigation of each claim.
· Results - ICS strives for results that successfully reduce the cost of your workers’ compensation program. We effectively impact the bottom line by reducing the amount of time an employee is away from work. We work with you and the injured worker to provide modified duty and return to work programs wherever possible. We believe prompt communication ensures “medical only” cases stay as “medical only” cases.
· Early Return to Work - ICS has effectively developed “Modified Duty Matrixes” which has allowed for greater control and reduction
of length of disabilities associated with claims. Development and implementation of new policies involving notifying respective departmental
supervisors when there is an opportunity for modified duty and working with these supervisors, thus ensuring a more timely return of the employee to work.
· Customized Managed Care Programs - Development of Medical Case Management programs which assist claims control by:
· Early intervention (within 24 hours of knowledge of lost time). · Evaluating appropriateness of treatment. · Initiating and controlling referrals to specialists. · Serve as liaison between employee, manager, and physician. · Monitoring cases for prevention opportunities. · Monitoring of cases for multiple reports of injury by individual employee - initiating investigation for causation as well as risk control intervention. · Customized Utilization and Peer Review referral criteria based on each clients request
· Injury Management Partnerships – In order to effectively manage health care costs and prevent unnecessary economic loss, Injury Management Partnership Programs have been created that allow the client opportunities for strategic planning, streamlined case resolution and the ability to control medical and administrative expenses.
This is accomplished by establishing procedures and protocols, medical referral forms, evaluation tools and the training of all service providers as to their use and our clients’ service expectations. This heightened level of communication and “partnerships” with the provider network have resulted in optimal savings.
